Most of our calves are kept in the
barn with their mothers for a few
days, and imprinted at birth.

DRY CREEK FARM
Byerly's Zanzibar and Kay.  All cattle
show and halter trained before
sale. This bull is now performing at
store openings and rodeos for his
new owner.
Zelda Metzger and Zinnia.  This is
an example of a heifer in training.  
All calves are kept with their
mothers until weaning in order to
learn "cow" social skills.

Little Zander was pulled from the pasture and won his class of 12-18 month
old calves at the Ocala Show in Florida four days later....he then travelled to
Texas and won his class at two shows the following weekend!  We are
excited to see what will happen when Zander gets a little maturity and
groceries!  
Chocolate Chip:  Zebu / Lowline Cross, born 4/06/08.  Chip's mom is a
beautiful 38" gray zebu cow, and his father is a 36" Lowline bull.  We
consider Chip a miniature Brangus!  And Chip is POLLED!  What a great
herd sire!!   With his zebu heritage, he expect him to be more disease
resistant and heat tolerant than a Lowline, but with the same wonderful
personality and beef marbling characteristics as the tiny angus type cattle

DCF Nova:  born 05/06/08 to Woodhaven Farms Zindle and PGCh
Heiken's Ark Hank.  Nova was 21" tall and 18 pounds at birth. He is
the calf of champions!  (see his parents on the Champions page)
Nova was imprinted at birth,
and is the most even
tempered calf we have had!  
He will be shown at the
State Fair of Texas by our
sponsored youth, Briana.  
Nova likes to take long
walks through the neighbor-
hood, and spends his
Monday evenings at the
Cowboy Church.  He is a
real "people" cow.   Herd
